Do you have a product already? Plus all about sales platforms and lead magnets

Hey Reader,

It feels great to be back in the swing of weekly episodes! Last week I hit 5,000 downloads and I just wanted to say thank you for listening!

Here are the highlights from February 😍

[Interview] You may already have a digital product with Debbie Campbell. Debbie had been maintaining websites for many years, communicating with clients using email templates and snippets from Google docs. She was looking for a better way to clearly let her clients know what was and wasn’t included in her care plans (and to upsell additional services). Once she created a comprehensive document, she also had a product to sell to her peers. Watch or listen to episode 49.

[Solo] What’s the best sales platform for my digital product? There are tons of sales platforms out there for your digital product – how do you know which is the best one for you? Let’s talk about a few questions to ask when vetting sales platforms. I’ll also share a variety of options and talk a bit about each. Watch or listen to episode 50.

[Interview] Turning her lead magnet into a paid product with Hollie Arnett. Hollie created the Ultimate Branding Checklist as a lead magnet for her list. After seeing a lot of success, she decided to expand on it and now offers three additional paid options. Watch or listen to episode 51.

[Solo] If I have a lead magnet, do I have a digital product? A new connection recently asked, If I have a lead magnet, do I have a product? And the answer is YES. Smaller products are great because like lead magnets, they solve one problem really well. They are easier for you to create and easier for your customers to consume and get a big win from! Watch or listen to episode 52.

Best,
Rene

P.S. If you're curious about selling products with Gumroad, check out this blog post. There's also a quick, 26-minute video near the bottom. It was take 2, because, you know, technology. 😆

Hey Reader, I started my podcast in January of 2023 as a way to build authority in the digital product space. Unfortunately, even though I have worked very hard, it hasn't really worked the way I wanted it to. These are the last three podcast episodes of Your First Digital Product 👉 [Interview] Launching a product before you have a big audience with Brionna Ned. “Build an audience” is one of the biggest pieces of advice in the online world, but what if you create a product first? Brionna...

Hey Reader, Since I broke my ankle last year, I've had a difficult time finding my way back into a regular exercise routine. I've tried a LOT of things that haven't worked well, but for the past month, I've just been writing down what I've done. Seeing this list, I can feel sort of a pull. I don't want to let it (or myself) down by writing none for a few days in a row. It got me thinking that if you're trying to work on your product, you could: Plan ahead of time, like with this Google Sheet....

Hey Reader, In the podcast episode that dropped today, Laura shared that she loved to create digital products, but she didn't love hooking up the twiddly bits. Creating the sales page, adding the product listing, connecting to her email marketing platform, making sure the emails were configured properly – that kind of stuff. I'm wondering if Laura is in the majority or the minority, so my question for you is – what parts do you love and what parts do you not love about creating, launching or...
