Experiments, community, perfection and the bumpy journey

Hey Reader,

It's a lesson I keep having to learn over and over again – don't compare where you are in your journey to where others are in theirs.

Yesterday at physical therapy as I was doing my ankle circles, I saw one woman doing squats and another woman very successfully doing towel scrunches.

I definitely can't do squats, and when I do towel scrunches, let's just say that the towel doesn't actually scrunch.

It's tough because I don't know those women, their stories, why they're in PT or how long they've been going. I can only see that small sliver of their journey.

The goal of my podcast is to not only share the victories, but also the challenges along the way. I want to normalize that we're all on our own path – and it's often bumpy, imperfect, challenging and wonderful.

Finding success in a second digital product with Sara Dunn. Sara's first product, a blogging guide, wasn't met with overwhelming sales, despite it being something that wedding vendors really needed. Selling templates, the story of my second digital product. After I realized that one of my blog posts was getting a lot of traffic, I decided to create a small product around it. In this episode, I share the lessons I learned from the process. Watch or listen to episode 29.

Permission to launch a small, imperfect product that’s not overly designed. I had an amazing conversation with a colleague a few weeks ago. She's been wanting to launch a digital product, but design, scope and perfection were holding her back. Your first product doesn't have to be huge, overly designed or perfect. Watch or listen to episode 31.

Taking small steps and big leaps thanks to business support with Kay Peacey. Kay has an amazing community of ActiveCampaign users, but her journey to this point was a bit bumpy. Learn how she overcame being scared to launch, charge money for a product and market her products. Watch or listen to episode 32.

You can also check out all of the episodes on YouTube or in your favorite podcast player.

Thanks for tuning in!

Hey Reader, A few months ago I went to the store to buy some new mascara. I've been wearing the same kind for years, but don't need to buy it very often because it lasts me a long time. The salesperson took me over to the section and said, you don't want waterproof mascara (which is what I usually get). You want the regular mascara. So I picked up the regular mascara, checked out and went about life. In the subsequent weeks, I realized why I don't buy regular mascara. I'm a business owner, in...

Hey Reader, Every year my son's high school marching band takes a trip and marches in a parade out of town. The band keeps the kids super busy for the duration of the 5-day trip. The kids went to Disney (Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom) plus Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach at the beginning of March. It's an exhausting (but fun) trip. When he got home, he opened his computer, saw how much work he had to do, immediately got overwhelmed, closed the computer and went to sleep. 😑...
